Favorite Breakfast Spot

Thank you all for your responses to yesterday's post. I was reading in a magazine yesterday that when kids go through these extreme testy times it is when they are in a period of BIG development. Not sure about that but whatever it is Ramsey's is out of sorts. I am going to try today to make chest or box and when he is naughty/not listening I will make him put a toy in the box for a certain amount of time. I'll let you know if this works. I swear though it is if we have these peaks where I want to pull my hair out and I go into "boot camp" discipline mode and then in no time he is sweet as pie again? Ramsey for sure does not like for me to ever think this parenting thing is "easy". It is NOT!

I have recently realized Caroline is always more feisty when I am busy and not paying as much attention to her. Maybe setting aside some special play time would help out when he is having a bad day. At least he'll come out of the "funk" and be "sweet as pie" again eventually.

Interesting thought about development. Caroline has suddenly become stubborn. Today at supper, she didn't have a spoon and wanted one. She didn't want to get her own, she wanted me to get it. She ended up crying and GOING TO HER ROOM because she absolutely refused to get herself a spoon. We finally got it together and she ate long after we were finished. This repeated itself when she wanted more water in the bathtub AND when she was ready for us to be finished reading.

Perhaps this is just her way of asserting her independence--which is probably good practice for her before she starts Kindergarten. But man is it a pain to deal with...
