New-Do!

I got a little bored earlier this week so I decided it was time to cut my long hair. I typically do this every few years and I was pretty overdue. So yesterday I got it chopped. I mean my motto is "go big or go home". So I got lots cut off. I immediately regreted my decision and beat myself up for a bit. I am more used to it today and it is slowly growing on me. A few friends have said it makes me look older. Who cares? Am I trying to look 18 nope, that ship has sailed. I am a Mom, I am about to be 31, and after all it is just hair. Change is good! But I can't help but question why we as women get so attached to our hair. Is it our security blanket? Is is vanity? Is it a symbol of femininity? I don't have all the answers but I am not a girl that stays stagnant in one look forever. Life is full of changes, some we can't control so I appreciate the ones I have a hand in. Goodbye long hair, maybe we'll meet again in a few years.

Cars 2 !!!

Last night we took Ramsey to see Cars 2 on opening day. Of course we had to make a stop by Menchies ice cream before. We purchased our tickets online and thank goodness because there was already a line at 6:30 and the movie didn't even start till 7:00. We made it in plenty of time and got great seats. We saw the 3-D version which was cool. The movie itself was really good. Much more action then the first one and I felt like this one was way more geared toward little boys then the first. The actual story line was a bit confusing especially for kids but who cares, Ramsey loved it! We all did. It was a great family night out with our little lover of Cars.

Trip to Athens

Saturday morning we left out early to head to Athens for our friend's little girls Birthday party. We went to college with Katy and Justin Toole and their little girl Caroline was turning 3 and we had yet to meet their newest member to their family, Mya. It was nice to get away for 24 hours and Ramsey and Caroline got along pretty well. More then anything he loved the slip n slide at her party. He did it at least 100 times. Here are a few pics from the weekend. I was hoping to take lots more but my camera battery died.

Kobey's Birthday Party

Last Saturday morning we 3 went to Kobey's birthday party. It was at their house (which is gorgeous!) and they had lots of outdoor water activities for the kids. Kobey's Mom, Shawne throws the best parties. She is a detail person and there was perfection at every turn. You know the type that makes you feel like a crappy Mom and party planner. It was seriously perfect! We all had a blast and here are a few pics from the morning of fun:

Shawnee made the cake. Seriously? It was awesome!

Swim Lessons 2011

Last week Ramsey had his annual swim lessons. We used the same instructor and we're SUPER pleased with Mark and his daughters ability to teach 2 little wild boys. Ramsey took lessons with his buddy Connor and they both did great! The goal was to do swim lessons early this year and hopefully not use floaties at all. So far so good, except he thinks he is a fantastic swimmer and can swim all by himself. Needless to say I have to keep a close eye on him but practice makes perfect right?

After his final swim lesson we took him to Menchies for an ice cream treat. Have I mentioned how much we (meaning me really) love Menchies. Ramsey enjoyed his favorite "banilla" with gummy bears and gummy worms:

VBS Week

Ramsey attended Vacation bible school at the church he goes to preschool at, Sam Jones. It was the whole week from 9-12:00 each morning. My friend Heather was the teacher for the 3 year old class so it was nice that Ramsey had a familiar face to be his teacher. He had a blast each day! I seriously can't believe he is old enough to be going to VBS already but he is so social he enjoyed every minute of it.

Lake Winnie

This past Wednesday was our annual trip to Lake Winnie Amusement park. It is definitely one of my favorite destinations each summer. It is just 1 hour from our house and way more fun, affordable, and less crowded then Six Flags. Ramsey loved doing the kids rides but also loved the chair lift, small roller coaster, and splash down boats. Here are a few pics from our adventure, unfortunately my camera battery died shortly after we got there :(

Trip to Petting Zoo

Last week my friend Heather and I took our kiddos to a morning field trip to a petting zoo in Canton. Neither of us had ever been there but both it was fun and just right for young kids.

Weekend with Cousins

While Cope and I went to visit Army friends over Memorial Day weekend Ramsey went to stay with his Grampy and Grammy and so did his only 2 cousins, Mattie and Caroline. Ramsey adores his "gwirls" and thinks they have just hung the moon. He had just as much over his adventuresome weekend as Cope and I did. I love the bond the 3 have developed. It makes my heart smile. Here are some pics of the 3 amigos:
