Last week our friends Cristin and Marlie stooped by on their way home to Kentucky to pick up a sewing order and play for a few minutes. Ramsey and Marlie became fast friends in a about 5 minutes:

Cope's Game Night Birthday Party
Cope and I are headed to the beach this next weekend to celebrate our 30th Birthdays (mine is in July) but we wanted to have a few friends get together to celebrate Cope's at our house. We decided on a game night theme. We had brackets and 3 games inside. The games were Taboo, Scatergories, and a dice game called Greedy. I also had a sitter come over to play with the kiddos in our upstairs playroom. We had tons of food and lots of fun. Cope and I have always loved games but it sure is fun to play with some of our favorite people. We played in pairs and Cope and I won all of our mini rounds and easily made it the finals which was outside bean bag toss. Will and Cindy beat us but we had fun anyway. Maybe we'll make this an annual event because it was easy and lots of fun. Here are some pictures from the night...

Cope is 30!
Yesterday Cope turned 30! We celebrated by going to On The Border for dinner when Cope got off work. Ramsey was on his "less than perfect" behavior much to my dismay. We're getting bikes for each other since we both turn 30 this year. We're also having Cope's real party this coming weekend with a game night tournament at our house.

Corn Hole Tournament
Last week I heard that there was going to be a Corn Hole tournament at a local festival we have every year. The proceeds were going to charity and so I thought Cope would be interested. I signed he and his friend Tom up. So last evening we all went over to the big event. There were about 30+ teams. Tom,Cope's teammate is my friend Kelly's hubby and Ramsey's BFF Ty's daddy so it is super easy and always fun to hang out with them. Ramsey and Ty had a blast running around getting dirty. Cope and Tom got stomped on their first round and since it was single elimination they were OUT. Bummer but in their defense the other team was about the best I've seen. It was hot and we were all hungry to it was time to G-O. We went to Chili's for an intense dinner. I say intense because Ramsey is WILD around Ty. They were driving cars all over the booth and Ramsey insisted on making LOUD race car noises the entire time. Also, his mack n cheese mostly ended up in the booth too. Oh, well such is life with a 2 year old. We all had fun and Kelly and Tom swear they aren't too embarrassed to go out to eat with us again.

what we've been doing...
Not too much really. Monday was Ramsey's end of the school yer party that he had to miss because he woke up feeling yucky and after drinking his milk proceeded to projectile vomit. We rested that day and by Tuesday he was back in action. Cope has been out of town this week but thankfully comes back later today. Ramsey and I started a Mommy and Me tumbling class yesterday. I mainly just keep him in check but he actually did pretty good. It is amazing how a total stranger can get to follow direction and but if mommy ask, forget it. Ramsey really liked it and is already asking to go back to "toungling class". Were gearing up for a relaxing weekend (hopefully)???

My Mother's Day
I had the best Mother's day a mommy could have! It started off with a relaxing morning at home and then when we got to church they had free coffee for all the moms. Our church has a coffee bar sort of like Starbucks. Cope got Ramsey down for his nap and I took my my to see a movie. We saw the Back Up Plan with Jennifer Lopez it was cute but certainly wait until it come out on video. After that my Dad came over for a visit and then we took Ramsey over to my Sister's and her boyfriend Jay's house. They volunteered to babysit so Cope could take me out to a great dinner. We went to the Melting Pot which is a fondue resteraunt. It was DELICIOUS! It is my favorite place but this time it was better then ever! We ate till we couldn't move and then rolled out to go get the WILD man. Oh, and Cope also gave me sweet card with a target gift card and mani/pedi gift card. I was certainly treated very well and I enjoyed every minute of the day.
I love Mother's Day but more importantly I love being Ramsey's mommy. It is certainly not a glamorous job but who cares, I AM HAPPY!!! Being Ramsey's mom has brought me joy beyond measure. He has made me so much more at peace in life. He challenges me beyond my limits, he makes me want to check in to the mental place at least once a week, but then he'll do or say something cute and it is those moments that all is right and I know I am exactly where I am meant to be. I love our WILD man beyond comprehension and I thank God I am his Mommy every single day. What a treat!!!

Thinking about my Mom
Mother's day makes me thankful to be a Mommy to Ramsey but it also makes me appreciate my own mom that much more. She is really just the BEST! Seriously, telling her "thank you" for all that she does is simply not enough. Here are just a few examples of the sweet things she does for me on a daily basis:
-She happily watches Ramsey 2 afternoons a week so I can sew.
-She does lots of my applique designs, she does all my business print work, she is also the best "creative team" and comes up with really great ideas for my business.
-She loves Ramsey so much and he loves her. He told me just the other day "Nama is my friend".
-She is there anytime I need to talk. She will drop whatever she is doing to help me or listen. Just last week I had a stomach bug and she can to get Ramsey for the whole day so I could rest and get better.
-Oh, and did I mention she and Morgan let Ramsey and I stay with them for for over a year while Cope was deployed and they opened their home to me, a newborn, and our two doggies. Seriously, if that isn't love I'm not sure what is?
She has no idea what a comfort she is to me. I think about how much she does for me and it is quite daunting to think that once you become a parent it is truly a life long commitment. I just hope as Ramsey grows up he can always depend on me the way I can count on my Mom. She has given me an amazing example to follow and I am so thankful for her love and friendship everyday. More the her just being my mom she is a neat person too. She has fun ideas and even if she wasn't my Mom I would most definitely want to be around her. She one of those people you just want to be you best self around.
Thanks Mom for your love and support and I thank God everyday I was chosen to be your daughter. It is something I appreciate every single day. Happy Mother's Day!!!
Song For Mother's Day
This is one of my most favorite songs and I just wanted to share it with all of you Mommy's out there as Mother's Day approaches and we reflect on this wonderful journey called "motherhood".

Last Day of Preschool
Today was Ramsey's last day of preschool for this school year. I will certainly miss it this summer and so will Ramsey. He really has enjoyed it and have made some great buddies. His teachers Miss Kay and Miss Laura Jo were totally awesome and I always felt Ramsey was well taken care of. He can easily count to 10, he knows his shapes, and almost knows all his ABC's. he's learned lots of songs that I mostly hear him singing in his bed in the mornings. Overall, this first year of preschool was AWESOME. We're already looking forward to next year!

Friday Afternoon Adventure
All week we had been promising Ramsey a trip to the Atlanta Aquarium. We've planned to go several times but each day it rolled around someone was sick or something had come up. Low and behold I have been cursed with a stomach bug since last Wednesday that had me completely taken out on Thursday but come Friday I was determined we were going to the Aquarium. If I ended up throwing up in my purse we were going. Cope had to work a half day so Ramsey and I spent the morning entertaining ourselves. Here he is at Lowes playing on the lawn mowers: We met my Mom at Chic-fil-a for lunch and then off to the Aquarium we went. Ramsey took a quick nap on the way there and then we met up with Cope. Here is Ramsey ready to get out of the car and see some fish:
It was super crowded which made it insane. We didn't bring a stroller since Ramsey hates it. But I will give him props because he was really good about holding hands or being carried (most of the time). One Mother even used Ramsey an example of a well behaved child as her kid was going bonkers. That's Right, Thanks to my perfect parenting skills I have the perfect acting child. haha!
