Our Guy

Here are a few recent pictures that Cope has sent me of him in action. We talk so casually most days that I almost forget that he really carries a gun around ALL day and wears all that gear in 100+ degree weather. I could not be more proud to be his wife and we are so looking forward to his return so we can get back to forever together.

9 Month Check Up

Ramsey had his 9 month check up this A.M. and all went well. He weighed in at 18 lbs 6 oz. He's a little guy thus far with a BIG personality. He smiled and chatted with the Doctor the whole time. His height is above average so we might have a tall, skinny boy on our hands. She said we could start on 3rd foods when we want to but Ramsey has a pretty bad gag reflex so we'll just test the waters slowly. He had to get two shots since we split them up and he cried hard but only for a minute, then was smiling at the receptionist as we checked out. We also had to go over to the lab to have his blood drawn. He cried the whole time and had a cool bandage to show for his war wound. Now he is down for his nap and is wiped out from the experience. Hopefully he'll wake up happy and not remembering a thing. It is hard to see your little boy cry even if you know it is for their own good.

Finding Treasures

We've had a fun little Saturday so far. The day started early with YARD SALES! Lots of yard sales! I've decided I'm not going to be buying new toys for Ramsey unless there is just something we can't live without. I just figure second hand is a form of recycling, saving money, and not to mention kids like a toy one day and might hate it the next. So we found some really great treasures for Ramsey and even a piece of furniture and and planter for myself. We looked like the Beverly Hillbillies on the way home. I was joking with my Mom that when I get really good deals I feel as though I've sort of beat the system. Ramsey was cool and took his bottle on the road and even had a diaper change in the car. Fun stuff. He also sported his new hand me down GA Bulldog wind suite which I totally adore( He has since spit up on it, pooped his other bulldogs t-shirt, and now is on to his jersey). So we had a fun time and now we're off to cheer on the DAWGS!!!

9 Months Old

Ramsey is 9 months old today! Man, I can hardly believe it. He is doing great and into everything. I thought I'd take this post just to fill you in on some of the things he's been up to lately:

-He can climb a whole flight of stairs (My mom discovered this one while babysitting for me the other day. How comforting huh?)

-He now gives great, sloppy kisses.

-He is pulling up on most everything and getting the hang of cruising.

-He waves when he wants to (Usually after we say bye-bye for about 5 minutes and start to walk away he does it)

-Loves to be chased while crawling.

-Seems to think the hair dryer is super funny. (He laughs and smiles the whole time I'm blowing my hair dry)

-Fascinated with all things electronic. (Especially things with buttons)

-Hates having his his diaper changed or his nose cleaned out (When I says "hates" I really mean he looses his mind)

-Loves the water. (Whatever form he can get. He prefers the pool or bath but is also happy to settle for the doggie bowls)
-His hair is getting more curly each day and I LOVE IT! (when it is damp it gets kinky curly which I totally dig )

-He is a great errand runner (He doesn't mind being on the go all day and loves to ride in the shopping cart and smile at everyone we pass)

-Babbles lots (things he has said so far: Ma-ma, Da-Da, Pa-pa, bye-bye, bye-bye papa, na-ma and lots of other stuff that I couldn't make out if I wanted to)
-He is a great sleeper at night.( He goes to bed at 9pm and sleeps until I wake him up at 7:30am. I've tried pushing bedtime back to 8:30 but he seemed to then want to get up at 6am. No need fixing what isn't broken I've decided)

-He still takes 2 naps that last anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours each depending on the day.

-He is a still sort of a picky eater. (Some days he'll only have 26oz of formula and refuse solids and the next day he'll have 32oz of formula and eat oatmeal, fruit, meat and veggies??? I've decided all I can do is offer and hope for the best!)

-Still is crazy about the doggies who basically just try to avoid him.

-Loves to look at his Daddy's picture (he always smiles when I show it to him and I swear he even said Da-Da when we were looking at it this am. I'm not sure he knew what he was saying but maybe he does?)

Overall, Ramsey is simply a delight! I still get overwhelmed on occasion and think I might come unglued but thankfully those days are getting fewer and farther in between. I love that I get to be his Mom. He is definitely teaching me WAY MORE than I'll ever teach him. No matter how crazy the day, I still go to bed thankful each night. We are so looking forward to Cope getting to share in the joys soon. I've told Cope he better be bringing his best pair of running shoes home because I have a feeling we're going to be on the move chasing our little WILD MAN around, but at least we'll be doing it together!!!!

Self Feeding

Ramsey is getting the hang of feeding himself. He really seems to enjoy his Independence and it keeps him entertained a little longer. Now if we could just conquer that sipee cup.

So It's Not a Teether?

My cell phone has been acting up lately and by that I mean it seems to randomly cut itself off. I have missed several calls in the past few days not realizing it was off. Now that we no longer have a home line at my Mom's and since it is my only daily form of communication with Cope I decided it wasn't going to fix itself so I took it to Verizon Doctor today for a check up. Come to find out the Doc said it had a lot of moisture inside that was causing it to short out on occasion. Moister huh? You mean it's not a teether? Ramsey is enamored with all things electronic and the cell phone is always the go-to thing when needed as entertainment which often ends with it in his mouth and covered in drool. Guess we won't be doing that anymore and not to mention that it is pretty gross. Live and learn I suppose.
